In these times of mass media and instant communications, there are few among us who are not familiar with the concept of pandemic. However, despite the prominence of influenza, "bird flu" and H5N1 in the news, most organizations have taken little notice until recently. With an upswing in attention by governments and other health related bodies reflecting the increasing possibility of pandemic, organizations are recognizing the need for preparation.

In answer to the need for pandemic planning and preparedness we have focused our energies on developing programs that offer complete solutions for individuals, families, organizations and communities.

Our first order of business was to determine what already was available. Early on in our review of websites we discovered a significant amount of information defining and explaining pandemics but little in the way of useful tools for dealing with a pandemic. While many official websites recommend training staff, securing products, building and testing plans, they do not provide any guidance.

To bridge this gap we first developed a series of training videos on infectious disease control geared towards helping dispel the fear felt by individuals and groups. Second, these videos have been incorporated into what is now our complete program: Pandemic 101 offers participants strategies and tools for prevention, preparation and planning.

Since last May (2006) our team has worked to build, produce and make accessible globally our program. In partnership with STN Labs we have designed a world-class website to support our clients' programs while allowing for the training and managing of thousands of simultaneous users. Many of our training tools are available in 5 languages. Our commitment to continuous quality improvement is a cornerstone of our business. We regularly update our website and modify our web pages to reflect the most relevant and up-to-date information available.
